Program Description:


This is an Applied Global Business Learning (AGBL) trip that is supported by the Center for Global and Economic Studies. AGBL is a unique volunteer organization that looks to assist communities in developing nations. By providing micro-enterprise solutions, it is the hope of the organization to foster sustainable business practices while preserving cultural ideals. In Colombia, we will be partnering with an organization called CCB, which focuses on creating sustainable business. Students will partner with CCB to complete various projects for small businesses in Bogotá.

Bogotá is the capital and largest city of Colombia. It is located in the center of Colombia on a high plateau known as the Bogota savanna and has a relatively fresh climate that is constant throughout the year. The average temperature is 58° F and it varies from 43 to 66° F. It is the political, economic , administrative, industrial, and cultural center of the country as well. The city has the highest nominal GDP in the country and stands out for its economic strength in the country. It is also the 3rd largest city within city limits in South America by population.
