With over 2,500 graduate and undergraduate students and international students from more than 50 countries, you'll be immersed in Greek culture and have plenty of opportunities to make friends from all over the world.
Located on a breathtaking hillside at the edge of Athens, an American-style, 64-acre campus offers an ideal setting to study in Greece: modern classrooms, the ACG Library, with extensive print, online and audio-visual resources, and the College’s athletic facilities, including the FIFA designed soccer field, the Olympic-sized swimming pool, indoor and outdoor courts and fitness and exercise studios.
Visits to historical and cultural sites and excursions to the Greek islands are scheduled throughout the academic year by the Study Abroad Office and the Outdoor Recreation Office. ACG Residence Life activities and events present opportunities to mingle with local students and immerse oneself in Greek and ACG culture. The Neighborhood Tour, walking tours to downtown Athens, Garden Movie Nights and Greek Cooking and Dancing Workshops are some of the highlights.
Students will attend a Marquette orientation prior to departure. In addition, ACG hosts an orientation upon arrival in Athens.
With 3 schools, the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the School of Business and the Frances Rich School of Fine and Performing Arts, 25 majors, 35 minors , and over 1,000 courses offered each year, there is a wide variety of subjects to choose from in business, fine arts, humanities, social sciences, communication, environmental studies.
- Have applied for a study abroad term at ACG.
- Have a grade point average of 3.00 or higher.
- Remain in good academic standing throughout their participation in the Study Abroad On-Campus Internship Program
Grades do not transfer to Marquette University for this program. Only credits will transfer, provided that a grade of “C” or higher is earned
The American College of Greece operates a modern Residence Complex just a short walk from campus. Students housed in ACG apartments live in a safe, clean, residential environment in a quiet neighborhood with nearby grocery stores, cafés, restaurants and shopping centers. Our Residence Complex consists of fully furnished studio, single and double bedrooms in shared apartments

The Chicagoland Greek-American Study Abroad Scholarships were established in 2017 by the Hellenic Foundation of Chicago. Two full scholarships covering tuition, housing and roundtrip airfare to Greece will be awarded to undergraduate Greek-Americans from the greater Chicago area who wish to study abroad for a full semester at the American College of Greece.
Priority will be given to undergraduate Chicagoland Greek-American students, who have never or rarely visited Greece in the past, with GPA ≥ 3.0. All scholarship recipients must fulfil the criteria for admission to The American College of Greece. Greek descent is defined as having one or more parents, grandparents, or great grandparents born in Greece.
