Program Description:

Program

Established in 2003 as the first public university in Vietnam with 100% curriculum taught in English, International University (IU) strives toward three objectives: to provide an international quality education, to conduct and apply innovative research, and to play a key role in the sustainable development of our society and country.

In carrying out this mission, our university focuses on creating an environment to encourage an active learning experience where students have the opportunity to engage in deductive and critical thinking to further develop their practical problem solving skills. IU provides both Vietnamese and international students with a sustainable education and training through many choices of IU’s bachelor and master degree programs or bachelor twinning programs that cooperate with other universities worldwide or IU’s students exchange and study abroad programs. Among these partner universities are some top ranked institutions in the US, UK, Australia and New Zealand giving our students a large number of choices of prestigious universities to earn their degrees from.

Academics

Courses Offered:
Majors offered at IU. Courses offered at IU include School of Business Administration Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Biotechnology, Mathematics, Physics, Biomedical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial and Systems Engineering

Course Approval Process
All courses taken on study abroad programs must then be approved by the appropriate college course approval contact as listed in the link below. Approval is indicated by the appropriate college representative’s signature on the Course Approval Form.

Please visit Course Approval Process webpage to review the approval process and print a Course Approval Form: http://www.marquette.edu/abroad/course-approval-process.shtml

Grades and Credit Transfer:
Study abroad is an academic experience. While your grades will not count towards your GPA, it is vital that you are academically successful. To earn credits for courses taken abroad, you will need to earn the equivalent of a ‘C’ or better at your host institution—this is a "C" at VNU. You cannot take classes pass/fail at your host institution.

Full Time Status:
You are required to take the equivalent of at least 12 U.S. credits while abroad. This program runs on a system similar to the US system.

Housing

In order to support incoming international students on finding accommodation, IU will provide you a list of housing options which will be sent to you via email prior to your departure. It is your responsibility to make decision the validity of your lease.  As soon as you receive the Letter of Acceptance from IU, you must fulfill the Accommodation Request Form and email it back to us, so we can then help to find the best place for you to live in. Late application is not accepted.

Budget

Please refer to the "Budget Sheets" section above.
