Known as the business and fashion center of Italy, Milan provides students with the range of professional and social activities. With such a rich cultural and religious history there are no shortages of fascinating sites to visit in Milan, such as the Duomo, the Castello Sforzesco, the Navigli, Brera, and many more. For sports fans, Stadio San Siro (Stadio Giuseppe Meazza), home to both AC Milan and Internazionale Milan, provides an intense and famous venue to attend soccer matches.
Many restaurants and social venues can also be easily found throughout the city ensuring enjoyable activities any day of the week. During the months of spring and autumn, fashion shows are prominent in the city and La Scala Opera House hosts year-long ballets, operas, and plays for those seeking a more elegant way to spend their evening. Furthermore, Milan’s positioning in northern Italy allows for access to Genova, Venice, Torino, and Verona, the Alps, the beautiful Lake Como, or to hiking in Cinque Terre. With the Adriatic Sea to the east and the Ligurian Sea to the west, it provides equally magnificent opportunities to see the Italian coastline.

Sacro Cuore works in collaboration with MIL Service to offer students dorms or access to off-campus apartments. The costs for apartments are paid directly to Sacro Cuore before the start of the program. The apartments are fully furnished with full kitchens and are normally shared by three or four students. MIL Service can also provide students with cell phones for their semester in Milan.
Marquette students will get discounted meal tickets for the university cafeteria, but there are also a variety of restaurants to eat at around campus and in Milan. Students should expect to pay approximately 550 euro a month in food costs as the price of living in Milan is slightly higher than in Milwaukee.
