Course Approval Process
All courses taken on study abroad programs must then be approved by the appropriate college course approval contact as listed in the link below. Approval is indicated by the appropriate college representative’s signature on the Course Approval Form.

Grades and Credit Transfer:
Study abroad is an academic experience. While your grades will not count towards your GPA, it is vital that you are academically successful. To earn credits for courses taken abroad, you will need to earn the equivalent of a ‘C’ or better at your host institution—this is a 10 out of 20 at ESSEC. You cannot take classes pass/fail at your host institution.

You are required to take the equivalent of at least 12 U.S. credits while abroad. This program runs on the ECTS system (European Credit Transfer System). 2 ECTS credits typically count for 1 US credit. A course worth 6 ECTS will transfer back to Marquette as 3 US credits. You will need to take 24 ECTS credits for your semester at ESSEC Business School.

Housing

ESSEC can accommodate students in one of three residence halls: Foyer des Linandes, Foyer de Cergy-Le Haut, or the brand new Residence du Port. These residences are located off-campus but they are owned and run by the Groupe Essec. The amenities vary, but all housing options include internet access and basic furnishings. The rent ranges from 490-750 euros per month depending on the housing option selected.

Budget
